Angelina Aslanova from Russia’s Armenian community talks about architecture and design in Gyumri

On 14 September 2016 Gyumri hosted Angelia Aslanova, a young architect originally from Armenia but currently living and studying in Russia. She is the founder of “Angelina Aslanova Architects” company, and the Laureate of the national award "Glass in architecture" in the nomination "Interiors and building elements" in Moscow, Russia.

In the frame of her visit she met with a diverse audience comprising architects, professors, students of Gyumri’s Academy of Fine Arts, the employees of Municipal Administration and other relevant institutions. She made a presentation on “Architecture and Design”, outlining the key principles, diversity of approaches and current tendencies. The presentation was followed by a Q&A session and an intensive discussion about the specifics of Gyumri’s architecture, current problems, citizens’ attitude towards contemporary architecture, and the ways for improvement. The students were enthusiastic about Angelina’s innovative approaches to design and many befriended her on social media to stay in touch in the future.
